The Pomeranian Chamber of Handicrafts For Small and Medium Enterprises in Gdańsk is an organization of economic self-government, which unites 25 guilds and 5 handicraft cooperatives on the basis of voluntary membership. Nearly 2600 businesses are united in the guilds and handicraft cooperatives, whereas 46 enterprisers are direct members of the Chamber.

A measure for the Chamber's activity in the scope of promoting small and medium companies is the participation of the Chamber's members in numerous promoting and training activities and contests, as well as the effort to improve the quality of services and production. For many years we have paid particular attention to enabling entrepreneurs access to knowledge in company management. We realize tasks aimed at creating new jobs and carry out trainings which prepare small and medium enterprises for EU-requirements.

As part of our statutory activity, on the grounds of the Crafts Act of 22 March 1989, we organize and hold qualification exams for apprentices and masters. Moreover, we offer activities for requalifying and further learning to make it easier for the unemployed to obtain qualifications which will help them find a job. The Chamber educates according to the market needs.
